1. First Taste of KFC#
Today, while playing with my child, I ordered two servings of KFC's New Orleans grilled wings. Watching my child enjoy the meal, I couldn't help but reminisce about my own journey.
Before graduating from college, I had only eaten KFC once.
That was during high school when my cousin married a woman from the county town. Her family was engaged in real estate and was much better off than us. She took us out to eat.
My cousin ordered a family bucket, and that moment felt as precious as a holiday. Although my cousin and his ex-wife have since separated, I will always be grateful to her for introducing me to KFC and showing me that such delicious food exists in the world.
My younger brother was also there at the time, and he remarked that it wasn't tasty. My cousin replied, "You should have said so earlier; we didn't get enough to eat." In the 2010s, KFC was a rarity in our hometown. My cousin and his wife were deeply in love at that time, and she was especially fond of my brother and me, knowing we came from the countryside.

At that time, 50 yuan was a huge amount for us.
We secretly finished the Wallace burgers in his room; they were delicious, and I felt so happy while burping.
But this made it clear that my ex-boyfriend and I were not on the same path. He believed that a large sum of money shouldn't be spent on such things, while my taste buds understood better what kind of life I needed.
Trying KFC Again#
After starting work at a clothing store, the manager, who was from Anhui, loved eating noodles, but I felt that noodles didn't fill me up and even made me a bit nauseous. Once, while eating shredded pork noodles with pickled mustard greens, I found a fly in my dish. When I told the chubby aunt, she said, "It's okay; flies have protein." I could only pay in frustration. 😭
When I didn't bring lunch, I would order work meals. At that time, KFC work meals were about 18 to 20 yuan and always came with cola. I was reluctant to order my favorite New Orleans grilled wings separately; I only splurged on them when they were part of a combo.
At that time, my salary was 3,500 yuan. After working for half a year, I saved money to buy a washing machine and color TV for my family, earning praise from the village elders, who all thought I was doing well outside.
But I was struggling, hating to take the bus because I would get carsick. Commuting every morning and evening, I felt depressed while taking the bus to work in the afternoon.
2. Stepping into the Crypto World and Saying Goodbye to KFC#
At the end of 2015, I met my first boss through a Didi ride to his BMW. At that time, Didi had just entered the Nanjing market, and a ride only cost a little over 2 yuan, while the bus also cost 2 yuan, and transferring buses would cost 4 yuan, so of course, I chose Didi.
Later, my boss thought I was eager to share. I had taken an Amway course and caught a ride home in his car. He believed that my acceptance of the Amway course indicated that I was open-minded and would surely accept the crypto world or financial schemes.
At that time, my boss was involved in financial schemes in the crypto world. I had just graduated and didn't understand these things, but I would attentively host his clients during meetings.
Once, for business communication, my boss introduced #Bitcoin #Ethereum for the first time, and my eyes lit up. Ethereum had dropped from over 20 yuan to 3 yuan, and the market was in despair, but then it surged to over 800 yuan (I might have misremembered the exact details). My first encounter with the Yunbi exchange led me to research deposits and withdrawals at home.
Unfortunately, from the second half of 2016 to 2017, I missed out on nearly 20 million in wealth. At that time, Yunbi had SC and other hundredfold coins, and I was almost among the top 100 holders on the entire network, but I exited during a dip.
The crypto world ignited my greed, and I began to look down on my working life. I participated in a semi-pyramid scheme course, spending about 80,000 yuan. How could someone with a monthly salary of 3,500 yuan afford that? I relied on loans, credit cards, and online loans, and soon fell into a debt hell.
I borrowed 30,000 yuan and repaid over 50,000 yuan to Yirendai in less than a year, which I still remember vividly.
Later, the company that promised life-changing results after the course went bankrupt, but many people, like me, were drained: the boss went bankrupt, couples divorced, and young people were heavily in debt.
During the course, I also met a scumbag. In 2017, I was scammed into buying fake foreign exchange, resulting in losses of over 100,000 yuan for me and my friends.
At that point, I was no longer qualified to eat KFC.
After finishing my university internship and returning to school for graduation, I passed by the KFC entrance and swallowed hard, telling my elders in a small group, "I really want to indulge in a KFC meal."
An older sister offered me 50 yuan to enjoy myself, but I didn't accept it.
3. Days Without the Qualification for KFC#
Borrowing 80,000 for All-In on #EOS#
In the midst of heavy debt and despair, the crypto bull market arrived in 2017. After experiencing the 94 incident, many coins surged hundreds or thousands of times. My EOS on the exchange increased tenfold, earning me several thousand, which opened my eyes.
Borrowing Money Reveals Human Nature#
At that time, everyone praised me for having potential and being willing to contribute, but when I went to borrow money, a gentle older sister suddenly turned fierce. She said, "I'm at KTV and can't hear you; I have no money to lend, find someone else." She had once felt sorry for me and would have gladly given me 5,000 yuan. This change left me cold; sigh, no more to say.
Deciding to Borrow 80,000 Online#
I found a young man online who actively helped me with loans; he could cut the upfront interest.
Fortunately, a big brother from the Chinese ICP region who also acted as an ambassador, whom I called senior brother, came to meet me in Nanjing and directly gave me 50,000 yuan so I wouldn't have to borrow. He was from Shandong, and I am still grateful to him. But later, I remained poor, as the Ethereum private placement ICP I participated in with him never issued coins. After a few years in a bear market, my senior brother also ran out of money and came to me for debt repayment. At that time, I had just become pregnant and was overwhelmed with debt, feeling truly sorry for him.
Until ICP issued coins, deducting the private placement portion offset 50,000 yuan of debt. But my senior brother was deeply hurt by me, and we lost contact from then on.
So my first pot of gold came from ICP, but the debt remained unpaid.
During this time, in 2018, I attended the EOS conference hosted by Wang Tuan Zhang at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, which gave birth to the famous three-wave theory in the crypto world. I decided to go all-in on EOS.
Encouraged by me, my ex-boyfriend borrowed 300,000 yuan to invest in the crypto world. From then on, the crypto world had a pair of ill-fated lovers.
After losing money, our relationship fell apart, and we ultimately broke up.
4. Regaining the Qualification for KFC#
When I was over 300,000 yuan in debt, I went to Shanghai to seek fortune.
I carried foot-soaking water for a year.
That year was when I learned the most. Every day, I took the subway to listen to Teacher Ni Haixia's traditional Chinese medicine courses.
The commute took over four hours: walking for over ten minutes to take the light rail to Line 9, transferring to Line 3, then to Line 1, and walking another ten minutes to the company.
It was tough; I watched Ni Haixia's courses like "Human Chronicle" and "Heaven Chronicle" on the way. After using headphones for a long time, I developed acne in my ears.
For lunch, I either ate family convenience meals or mooched off my colleagues.
Once, the manager deliberately ate a big meal next to me, and I swallowed hard.
While I was at the store, the company was thriving, and the boss rewarded us with exquisite takeout. He was from Shanghai and was very particular.
When an extra cake was available, the boss asked what to do. He and another founder exchanged knowing smiles and said to give it to someone; she would definitely want it.
Guess what?
I took it, but not because I wanted to eat it; I was practicing Buddhism and didn't want to waste food, so I accepted it with a sense of righteousness. 😊
But it was also bittersweet.
Debt and No Wedding#
Later, I secretly got married, afraid to tell my boss for fear of being fired. At that time, a salary of 6,000 yuan plus five insurances and one fund was a good job in my eyes. I had to use this money to juggle debts, and I didn't even use the five days of wedding leave.
With over 300,000 yuan in debt, naturally, there was no wedding. Writing this now brings tears to my eyes; it was so hard then, too poor to even afford a wedding.
Half a year after the wedding, I became pregnant. While examining patients' tongues, I felt nauseous. I didn't even know I was pregnant, and while serving clients foot-soaking water, my hands trembled. The manager said I was being dramatic.
At a critical moment, a colleague who was pregnant went home, and I felt dizzy every day on the subway, almost fainting. I had to confess to my boss that I was pregnant. The boss felt deceived.
When I returned to Nanjing, the attendant pushed me out in a wheelchair; the morning sickness was too severe.
When I learned I was pregnant, I cried: over 300,000 yuan in debt, how would I raise the child?
But it was this child that brought me good fortune in the crypto world.
My moment of reversal had arrived.
5. The Rabbit's Comeback#
After becoming pregnant, I couldn't go to work.
Returning to the crypto world, it had undergone a transformation: Yunbi disappeared, and Binance, Huobi, and OKEx rose.
My poor EOS could still be dollar-cost averaged, but holding EOS had exhausted all my bad luck, and from then on, my life was filled with good fortune.
Binance's Bull Market#
From the boom of Ethereum DeFi to the wave of Tron, then to Huobi Chain, and finally Binance Chain.
In the previous rounds, I hadn't seized the opportunity, but by the time I played with meme coins on Binance Chain, I had experience.
In this round, I completely paid off my debts and accumulated assets above A7.
My past debts made me cautious, and with capital, I dared not play recklessly.
From then on, I had the qualification to eat KFC whenever I wanted.
But after turning 30, my figure changed, and I started dieting, so I could only watch my baby eat, swallowing hard. 😂😂😂
